Governor Sarah "Go Ahead and Rape My Daughter, She Still Ain't Getting No Abortion" Palin visited two rallies in the Tampa-St. Petersburg area yesterday. Greeted by cheering crowds eager to drop to their knees and stick out their tongues for the hits of Black Acid the Republican campaign is now handing out in hopes that voters won't notice that the financial system in the country's tanking and the economy's withering.

Governor Palin spoke at length on the new McCain campaign meme - the apparent need to get John McCain into the White House at any cost, even to the cost of his now nonexistent honor and personal integrity.

But this little wee bit of news leaps out at the eye (emphases are mine):

Press kept under a watchful eye

CLEARWATER -- Constantly under the watchful eyes of security, the media wasn't permitted to wander around inside Coachman Park to talk to Sarah Palin supporters. When reporters tried to leave the designated press area and head toward the bleachers where the crowd was seated, an escort would dart out of nowhere and confront him or her and say, "Can I help you?'' and turn the person around.
When one reporter asked an escort, who would not give her name, why the press wasn't allowed to mingle, she said that in the past, negative things had been written. The campaign wanted to avoid that possibility Monday.

Because the news media (and yes, even those in the tank for McCain) have written or said things that might hurt poor little Sarah's itty-bitty feelings, the press can't even talk to her supporters. I wonder why? Could it be we'd hear some Florida wingnut say that God's chosen McCain as the vehicle to get His anointed, Sarah Palin, into the White House so she can smash the Constitution further? Or hear some anti-Semite complain that it's the dirty Jews who are responsible for dragging down the economy? Or that Obama's a terrorist and should be killed?

I'm not making this shit up, folks. These are things that have been heard at Republican political rallies over the past week - hell, yesterday.

So here we have Sister Sarah already in the Bubble, hiding out from the press who want to - boo hoo! - actually ask her questions on, like, you know, the issues.

The choice, were it not clear enough already, is becoming stark.
